Match Preview: West Ham vs. NK Domzale (Europa League 3rd qual. round)

West Ham will need to play much better than they did last week in order to progress to the play off round and reach the Europa League group stage.

The Irons lost 2-1 away in Slovenia when NK Domzale took full advantage of the low fitness levels that West Ham possess in this early stage of pre-season. The Slovenian side took an early lead when Havard Nordtveit gave away a penalty for an alleged handball. Mark Noble levelled the game but Domzale were too much for the Hammers in the second half.

Today, the squad should be further along in fitness and preperation, and with the return of new signing Gokhan Tore, the Irons are strong favourites to win the tie.

Team News

Dimitri Payet, Angelo Ogbonna and James Collins are not expected to feature in tonight’s game, having recently returned to the squad from International duty at Euro 2016. They could feature for the Hammers friendly against Juventus on Sunday.

Gokhan Tore returns from a knock he acquired in training. Cresswell and Lanzini are out with knee injuries.

Likely line-up: Adrian, Byram, Reid, Nordtveit, Antonio, Obiang, Noble, Kouyate, Feghouli, Tore, Carroll

KO: 7:45pm

TV: As of yet, no channel will be broadcasting the game, as the friendly against Juventus is planned to be the first televised match.
